Account information
When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store plain-text passwords.
Business profile data
To operate the service, you provide us with information about your business: its name, description, target audience, keywords, and subreddits to monitor. This data is used solely to power your lead feed.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, pages visited, timestamps) for security and debugging. This data is retained for up to 90 days.

2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To scan Reddit and surface leads matching your business profile
- To send transactional emails (lead alerts, password resets)
- To improve and debug the service
- To process payments and send billing communications
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
- Reddit API — We fetch public Reddit posts via Reddit's official API. We do not access private messages or non-public data.
- OpenAI — Your business description and matched Reddit posts are sent to OpenAI to generate lead match scores and reply drafts. OpenAI's Privacy Policy applies to this processing.
- Email provider — We use a transactional email provider to send notifications. Your email address is shared with this provider for delivery purposes only.
4. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 6). Matched leads are retained for 90 days and then automatically purged.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, hashed passwords, and database access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications

7. Children
ThreadHunter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
